Google Maps

We just love Google Maps.  If you have a GAFE (Google Applications for Education) account, like all Thames Valley students, you can even save maps to your own Google Drive (free cloud storage).  We have learned that we can use the “my maps” feature to name our own maps, colour code location pins, and even add our own images and captions for locations around the world.  But what’s really cool, is that we can also MEASURE distance using a ruler tool.  Students were very eager to see how many meters their walk to school is, or the perimeter of their own backyard.  Fun, fun, fun.
